Meet Shiflet Richardson

David Shiflet

David grew up in the tiny East Texas town of Emory where his lifelong love of architecture began with building forts, pens and playhouses with his grandmother. “I liked the fact that she was undaunted by any task and unencumbered by precision. Her love of building inspires me to this day.”

David graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. Founding the Shiflet Group Architects a few years later David has built a 30-year reputation for having designed many of the finest homes in Central Texas. “I love designing homes. That’s all we do and we do it with passion.”

Mark Richardson

Some people are born to be Architects… Mark is one of those people. From drawing floor plans with his uncle, an Architect, at the age of 5 to earning scholarships to the Glassell School of Art in grade school – his career path was always clear. Mark received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and then his Masters of Architecture from Virginia Tech.

His career began in Austin at Moontower Design/Build, followed by a wonderful opportunity to work at the world-renowned firm of Olson Kundig in Seattle. Homesick as true Texans, Mark and his wife Sarah came home to Austin where he joined Shiflet Group Architects and was soon named Partner. Mark is a registered Architect and a member of the American Institute of Architects. Most of his time away from the office is spent chasing around his two sons, Wesley and Shep, and relaxing out at the family’s East Texas ranch.
